Went to the range this morning with a primary objective being to get some chronograph data on 3 firearms.
S&W M&P9 2.0, 9mm, 5" barrel, Federal HST +P 147gr - 1063fps/369 ft lbs
S&W American Eagle 124 gr - 1123/347
Ruger SR9C 3.4" barrel, Federal HST +P 147 gr - 960 fps/300 ft lbs
FN AR 5.56mm, 16" barrel, Hornady Superformance 75gr BTHP - 2723fps/1235ft lbs
The Hornady 5.56mm is the hottest round they make and with the AMAX variant is supersonic to almost 1100 yds according to JBM ballistics calculator.
As much as I like the S&W, if I were forced to choose, I'd still take the SR9C. Don
