Do you think the RAP will be made in 40 S&W? In semi autos I am a 1911 45 ACP guy. But, I also have a collection of Smith & Wesson 3rd gen pistols. One of those is a 4006. Since parts for the gen 3 guns are getting harder to find, I think I want a Ruger in 40 to burn up some range ammo. I know the SR40 is out there but I think I would like one in the newer American.

It is possible. I think it if they sell eneough of those pistols, then they might. S&W sold millions of shields in 9mm,then 40, then they started making 45 version recently.

I think that Ruger is having enough trouble selling the 9 and 45 RAPs that adding a caliber like 40 S&W that is losing popularity isn't in the cards. Probably just not profitable enough.
