For me this became a viable pistol for my needs.

Almost totslly plus 1 here.... i didnt grow up on 1911s and the RAP was far more dangerous than a Glock... it was a fully cocked 1911 without the thumb safety. No one i know would carry a 1911 like that or advocate doing so. Marketing counts... change the look and the name, and everyone now thinks it is safe to do what still isnt safe on the silver metal gun. However, the addition of the thumb safety is a game changer for the prudent!!
