Ruger American Pistol

Just got the 9mm Friday . Does anyone else have one? If so I have a question about the magazine seating.

I bought my 9 mm American on Feb. 2 nd. but have only put 30 rounds threw it. Have not noticed any problems so far, the magazine seats easily full or empty and i found the medium grip to be the most comfortable so far, hope to put a few more rounds threw it later this week.

I rented one to try it out.
Seating a mag forcefully caused the slide to close on it's own.
Not a big deal to me other than it's not supposed to happen.

As far as the magazine being inserted and the slide closing. S&W M&P's also do this. It's done purposely. I do not know if the Ruger is done purposely or not.

I just bought one and love it. Shot it yesterday but I didn't notice the slide. I'll look for it next time I'm out.
I have had the M+P close though.
