Picked up a sr45 today pretty good price. Concerns the front sight is hanging over the slide to the left. Took it apart pretty dirty appears somebody bought it and just tried shooting it. Con fern is I hope the front sight didn't come from the factory that way . Ser #380-31941 need a born date.

According to the Ruger website, your SR45 was made in 2013 - same year as mine, which has functioned just fine. My SR9 had light strike issues early on, but a good cleaning of the striker channel fixed that.

Ruger should make yours right.

A buddy of mine bought one of these at the same time I bought my P227. I spent a little more (that's not the point) but his has had issues. He's had his back a couple times.

The grip on both guns feels great. The SR45 is slightly slimmer. It has a heavier but more consistent trigger pull. Both guns have great sites. I prefer the 3-dot white sights on my Sig. The Sig has the option of 14 round magazines. I can also find aftermarket P220 barrels in different configurations.

I thought about buying an SR45, but think I'll stick with my P220 and P227.

I also like the P90 but have never owned one.
