I have a Ruger Standard, serial #17-03053, signed by Bill Ruger, 1 in 5000, in excellent condition. What resources should I look to as a guide on value and asking price from informed buyers. I will be replacing this with a newer Ruger target model but that is not a part of the equation. Thanks, Joe K

Howdy. Welcome to the Forum.

1st, is it unfired and does it include the wooden box? If so, the price guides say $450, but I say $500.

If the box is not included, and it's been fired, then it's a shooter-grade, and worth $350 to $400 if in otherwise like-new condition. You'll still have to find a buyer that's willing to pay a bit of a premium for a used gun, even this one.

That's a pretty rough guide to prices. Depending on a buyers needs, location, etc., it is worth whatever the buyer and seller agree on.

WAYNO.
