I have found that concentrating on keeping the front sight BURIED in the rear sight can make a difference. It's all too easy to get carried away trying to break the shot and lose the proper sight picture. Follow-through helps, too.

All JMHO and perhaps of no value here.

When I shoot a gun with Patridge type sights, I hold the front sight even with the top of the notch in the rear sight. If I try to bury the front sight blade in the notch, my groups open up because there is less light in the bottom of the notch than there is at the top of the notch.

The front sight is easily replaced and, I would expect, would be inexpensive to do.....if I can find one. 8)

I meant that it is necessary to KEEP the front sight properly aligned with the rear sight. All too often when concentrating on trigger pull, etc, the fine top surface alignment can be lost. Any protrusion of the front sight above the rear sight will produce the high hit points in question here.

This assumes proper sight adjustment in the first place, of course.
