Are they single or double stacked magazines? I like the slim profile of my 1911's, but am not all that comfortable carrying one as I just don't practice enough. Thinking of a SR45 and was wondering if the grip is much wider as well as the overall thickness.

Thanks.

I believe they are staggered. Definitely thicker than 1911 single stack, but not like a true double stack hi cap Glock or similar polymer pistol. I have a kimber 1911, sr45, and glock 30 .45 Acp. That's the order from thinnest to thickest grip. I find the sr pistols have great ergonomics, but my hands tend to be on the Lg/XL size. I will post some pics in a few. The sr is pretty much a single stack, but wider than the 1911 grip.

Ruger lists the width of the SR45 at 1.27"
I tried measuring my SR45 grip with a ruler but it isn't working to good. If you take the magazine out and measure across the bottom mine is almost exactly a inch wide with a ruler.

The bottom of the magazine is flared out so it looks wider with the mag in looking at the bottom. My micrometer is out in the shop I can get it tomorrow and get some exact dimensions.
I can say it is considerably narrower than my P95 grip. It appears they didn't try to "double stack" to get a lot of rounds in there. It seems it was not an objective to get as many as possible in there. I think they wanted the slim grip more. They are only slightly staggered in the magazine.
Its a pretty slim grip IMHO for a .45

Here is a SR45 on the left of a Glock G21

I read a description somewhere that it is a "stack & a half". lol
The grip in mine is slimmer & more comfortable than my Springer GI .45 single stack.

Love both pistols.
