problems with p89

I recently bought ruger p89 an decided to break it down for cleaning. No problems whatsoever during breakdown. However I reassembled it and now the ejector is stuck in the down position and the gun will not come back apart. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem??

I don't understand why the gun wouldn't come back apart. Once the pistol is reassembled you can take an empty magazine & insert it to push the ejector back up. Or you use the eraser on a #2 pencil to do it.

Need more detail on what is going on. The ejector has to be down to take it apart so it should be able to strip.

Also the ejector is just pinned in so if the grips are on then it can only pivot on that pin. I don't know of anything that would keep it from popping back up.
