Please share your opinion of the value of a MK I sn 17-030xx. This was manufactured in December 1981 as one of last 5,000 MK I before Ruger switched to the MK II. This SS gun is in excellent condition with Bill Ruger's signature on the receiver. I do not have the original wood box. Thank you, Joe

I would guess $375-425. I have seen a few of them at auction with box and papers starting at $500 with no takers.

I sold a consecutive pair NIB, for 1K at the last gun show. There's one on GB now $570.00 and change I believe.

I've professed the stainless RST-4 to be a 500-dollar gun when in perfect condition. And regardless of price, these aren't a model that you're gonna go out and buy at the local gun store on a whim. I own one, and I don't know where I could easily find another.

This pistol is listed on page 1851 of 34th Edition of Blue Book as Stainless 1 of 5000 Signature Series W/box
-100% = $475
-98% = $375
-95% = $325

No mention of a "wooden" box, but since you have no box, perhaps less than above. Of course it is worth exactly what someone would be willing to pay for it. By contrast, an earlier Red Eagle Standard Model with the "salt cod" box is worth $3,750 in 100% condition.
