My wife found out she can get a good price on ammo at our local range. I believe it is a good price anyways ($4-5 a box of 50). Either way, we can't find .22 rounds anywhere else so we plan to get some. Anyone have an opinion on which brand is cleaner ammo in general?

CCI makes different types but any 22lr now a days is good. I have not seen any around here for months. On black Friday one store had CCI for 10 buck / 100rd sleeve. So if you can get it for 4-5 for 50 DO IT!! I'm close to Chicago want to mail me some HAHA.

Thanks roylt. I'd love to get you some of that ammo. My wife is actually in women's handgun league at the range. Most of the women are using .22's and my wife was having trouble keeping up with their scores with her SR9. One of the instructors lets her use a .22 pistol there and the ammo is "supposed" to be only for the range. They did offer her 2 or 3 boxes though for tonight and they only shoot 50-100 rounds per night so I figured we'd keep a few extra each week.
We're in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. If you aren't to far from there, the range is called OnTarget.

Taterman, Blazer is made by CCI.

I'd buy whatever they had for that price. Do you know what the "other" CCI's were?

Unfortunately I don't. My wife emailed me from work about them and I won't be talking to her until about an hour from now. I'll post up if she has any more info.

There is a recall on some Winchester .22lr ammo....

And considering the availability of .22 ammo, get when ya can, when ya can for what you are willing to pay.
