We take a 9mm case and neck it down to 7.65mm add 90 grain bullet. We can call it .327 cal. Ruger. Heck Sig. did it with a .40 S&W case neck down to 9mm, called it .357 Sig.
Now lets go a little further and design a platform for it. Give it a fixed barrel for accuracy, maybe 4'' or so long, alloy frame, single stack mag with nine round capacity, slide width around 1'' or less. Striker fired with 6lb. or so trigger. Total weight around 25oz. loaded.
An answer looking for a question? Don't know, but I would like to have one.

Sounds interesting but I would bet after the commercial failures of the 32H&R and .327 there won't be any more .32 variations in the near future.

Your dream round already exists, its called the 30 Luger or 7.65 Luger and has been around since 1900. I load mine with Hornady 90 gr. XTP's. Bob!! :D

As far as Im concerned the only failure of the 327Mag was by the gun writers and the gun makers.

I know of at least 3 shooters that would have bought if they could have found one.

Ditto the 22 1911 Centennial version of the 45.

buster cat, your idea is not that far fetched. A modern loading for the 30 Luger with the 90gr. XTP would be ideal in the very small 9mm guns like the LC9, kel-Tec, shield, nano, P290, etc. Less recoil and still effective. I have a 30 Luger barrel for my Browning Hi-Power and my "smith has one for his P226. BTW, the 30 Luger came first. The 9mm was developed from it, simply necked up, so the Germans would accept it, in 1904 for the Navy and in 1908 for the Army. Also, any pistol that's a 9mm can be a 30 Luger by changing the barrel. And if the .30 Luger loading isn't hot enough, there's the slightly longer .30 Mauser, and the nearly-identical but hotter-loated .30 Tokarev.

How about necking the 10mm (or maybe the .45 Win Mag) down to .30 or .32? You know, if the .30USC Blackhawk just isn't loud enough to suit you?
