I was hoping to get an idea what a fair market price is to buy a used Ruger P345 .45 acp pistol?. The one I am looking at comes with 3 magazines (stainless slide) and appears to be shot very little.

I was at the LGS inquiring about the prices GSR and Mini-Tac30. I asked the owner what my P345 is worth for a trade-in. He gave me a price of $350. That's with Box, Lock, Internal Lock Keys, Manual, 2 Magazines, Magazine Loader. My P345 is Blue, 98%, Bought it NIB last March for $475 OTD..................................

I'd take that $350 and run Chief, or trade, or whatever .... because that's about $100 over what it should be .... unless he's ripping you for the new gun by $100, which would make it about right.

$375 is a very good deal. In my travels the new prices hover around $519-539 factory-fresh.

I've seen only one of three used, as-new P345 guns (stainless slide w/the stupid rail) below $400. Again, that was as-new with no visible marks inside or out, all factory items.

Hmmm... I think a lot of people here don't know what the hell they are talking about. The P345 is an excellent pistol. Talk to someone who actually HAS one.

I just bought a used blued one. It came with the box, papers, lock, magazines, keys, etc. I paid $350 and feel like I got a good deal. This is the 3rd one I've owned and I'm keeping this one!

Mitch ... If you look at the used P345s that have actually sold on Gunbroker, you will find that the range has been from a low of $290 to a high end of about $400. If it's a relatively low round count gun with all of the standard accessories included, $340 or so would be a reasonable price IMHO.

As far as the KP345 is concerned, mine has proven to be an excellent firearm. It is nearing 3,000 rounds and with the exception of 2 fail to feeds in the first 50 rounds, it has been perfect. In my experience (having shot both in a side by side comparison), the P345 is every bit as accurate as the P90, and IMHO the P345 is Ruger's best .45 semi-auto offering to date (others may disagree). Good luck with your decision :)

I would buy every one I could find at $340!

But don't forget that the $340 gun sold on GB also adds $25 for shipping, and $20 for a transfer FFL, etc. so in reality is is closer to a $400 deal no matter what.

I was thinking of trading my P345 ss mint in on a new LC9. They wanted to give me $150 for it. They would take it on consignment and sell it for $375 they said. I would get $280 out of the deal if and when it sold. They didn't act very interested. I got the LC9 and kept the P345. It may not be an Ed Brown but it is sure worth more than $150.

A used Ruger Pseries just doesn't go for much around here. I took my 2 year old p95 in to LGS to see what they'd give me and all they'd give was $225. I paid $375 OTD new. That's a huge hit.

Thanks for all the replies. I offered the store $400 flat including tax but he would only come off his asking price by 15 bucks (wanting $425 + tax). Think I'll walk away from this.

Mitch ... I wouldn't blame you if you did. This guy is asking for nearly NIB money for a used gun (almost $460 with tax ). If you want to spend that kind of money, there are currently a couple NIB KP345s on Gunbroker that you can buy without bidding for $445 + $15 shipping. Sure you would have to add the $20 FFL fee, but your still out the door for about $480 with a new gun. If it were me though, I'd keep searching for a used unit for around the $350 range (if your patient ... you'll find one )

This is a small gun store, but it is close to my house, so I go in there often to look around, but I've never been able to afford anything from them. Their sticker prices are high, but I hoped talking cash, they would come off their list prices substantially. As it turns out they won't, at least not to me. I remember last year I was looking for a Kel-Tec PF9 and remembered seeing one there once, but when I checked again they were out. While they said they were a Kel-Tec dealer, after asking the guy about ordering me one, they said they would never get in another one. The guy hated them and claimed 7 out of the 10 he sold had to be returned to Kel-Tec. Then he tried to sell me Sccy touting how much better they were than Kel-Tec. May be, but I had pretty much made up my mind what I wanted, I just needed to find one. I did eventually, and I've never had a problem with it. I see where Ruger is offering a similar gun now in the LC9 that I have heard good things about as well.

Recently I have seen 2 slightly used P345's. One was $449 plus tax the other was $450 plus shipping. I didn't buy either as they are little more than I want to pay. I didn't try to negotiate But judging by what your dealer is asking that might be about market price. i would have walked too but I am a tightwad.
