Found this one in C.A. pawn shop and bought it online.
I just need to come up with a box for it or does this one have the plastic case?

The highest 514 I have noted is 219-43756 which was made in 1992 or early 1993. The last time any of the 514 models were listed in Ruger's price sheets were those dated 12/1/93. Ruger didn't go to cardboard on their shorter barreled SA's until late '95 or early '96 which would have been about the same time the change was made to the shorter barreled .22 autos.
Now that I think about it, I don't recall a 514 in a plastic box, but maybe Ruger shipped plastic boxed .22 autos before the SA's came out? I don't recall that I guess. Thought the plastic boxes were issued with shorter barreled autos and SA's all about the same time.
Ruger went to plastic on their 10" autos sometime in 1997.

Glad you got the T514. I had talked to the lady at the pawn shop and had her send me pics. It is a nice looking pistol. I had an auction coming up later in that week so I did not attempt to buy it. Because I was looking at a SS T514 at the auction. Which I was able to get. Now I need a blued T514.

I know somebody could have always put those laminated thumbrest panels on that KMK514, but the first KMK514's that were shipped were a distributor exclusive with the laminates, about 1,500 made for Outdoor Sports in the 216-42263 to 216-43553 serial range in 1990.
If that's what that is, let me know if there's a chance you'd want to part with that one. We know a collector in the People's Republic of CA who needs one for his budding Mark II collection.

It falls into that serial number range. But as far as the collector in Calif. sorry he'll have to keep searching. What values does it have being one of the 1500? But I doubt it will ever be sold.

That's the thing. Most folks know what any of the 514 models are, but there really isn't any extra demand for the one with the laminate grip as far as I know...except for one collector in CA. But I'd think there should be at least a small premium over a regular KMK514.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure the factory will even letter the laminte grip model any different than a normal KMK514...at least the catalog numbers are the same on both. So I suppose the only way to tell is by serial number range only.

I have one of those with laminte grips. My notes state 1500 produced in 1990. Factory letter states "216-43471 shipped as a KMK514 November 1990". I purchashed the gun new and original cost was 325.00 dealer.
