I took the Model 94 .30-30 Trapper takedown carbine to the range today. This gun was made in 1964 according to the serial number and started life as a regular Model 94 carbine.

I took pics of how the rifle takes down with the button under the front band on the mag tube. Push the button, slide the mag tube forward and then turn the barreled, tube and forearm counter clockwise and it all takes down.

I shot it with 170 grain Remington loads, and it's not all that bad. I've heard that some takedown lever guns are not as accurate as solid frame guns. I busted a couple of clay targets with it at 25 yards offhand so it should be good on deer out to 100 yards or so. Right now I am looking for a case of some kind, I want an older leather case, something that isn't new or tactical.

Thank you so much for sharing your Story, the Range
Report, and nice Pictures.

That is one Unique Winchester Model '94. I like it!

That is clever how it releases the Magazine and can
twisted away from the receiver and taken apart.

Who ever made that, really had some fore thought
on how they wanted it to come apart. Easy for
Transport and easy to Clean the bore.

The best to You and your Endeavors.

That Sir is a slick little Trapper!!!! What about finding a new or used SxS or O/U shotgun case/trunk? You could have the interior made up and done to fit that Trapper real nice!! ;)
