Need help from those knowledgeable about the Ruger catalogs of this era. 1st, I am of the opinion that there is not a 1968 Catalog.
My 1967 is marked on the front lower left Form No. SR-6-67
My 1969 is marked on the front lower left Form No. SR-1-69R
My 1970 is marked on the front lower left 1970 Fall-Winter Catalog
The front of all 3 of these look alike as far as picture and printing.
I think I have seen 3 different versions of a 1971 catalog that are A, B and C versions.
I am trying to compile the No.1 single shot offerings from these first 3 years. Does anyone have one different than the 3 I have listed above?
Thanks,
CLN

Well, I went & got my book that houses my catalogs. (I didn't trust my memory.)
My catalogs are the same,, SR-6-67, SR-1-69R, and 1970 Fall-winter.

However,, I do have a few other items.
I have a Foreign Distribution-1970 catalog as well.
I have a Dealer Price Sheet marked; "Effective 2 January 1970."
I have a Distributor Price sheet marked "Effective 2 January 1970"

I also have a "News From Ruger" dated March 15 1970, with the title; "Ruger Revised Catalog" and goes into details about the next catalog, marked; SR-3-70/20M-R.
It mentions the Number 1's being available in 5 basic models.

Next, I have a letter to dealers, dated April 30, 1970, and it's different, but it has a list of catalog changes for 1970.

I can photocopy these things & email them to you.

I just realized I'm missing a 1971-A from my stuff. (It may be in a different book, as I may have used it in a display. But if not,, I'll be on the hunt for a 1971-A myself.

I have the 1971's (A) (B) & (C) - if you can use them I'll send them to you free of charge for your research... You can keep them (I have spares). Just let me know. PM or email me your shipping information if you want them.

Let me know if I can help Lee. I did find my 1971-A. It was in a different book of stuff from a display,, as I kinda figured.
I can photocopy you a set of what I have,,, mail a set,,as well as email it to you if necessary.

The interesting thing is the mentioning of a catalog marked; SR-3-70/20M-R,, yet,, I've never seen one.
The only 1970 catalog I have found is the Fall-Winter one.

The reason I am looking at this so closely is that the '69 catalog mentions that a 6.5 Rem Mag & a 264 Win Mag 1B, and 24" barrels in the 1H in 45/70 can be special ordered. The '67 offers a 1H 24" C weight barrel in .338 Win Mag. NONE ARE KNOWN in non prefix rifles!

ENU and Contender,
Interesting points raised by ENU.
While I am no expert, my understanding was that there was not a 1968 catalog. Least I never saw one.
Also, from my research on page 677-680 of the 1992 RENE, I also show the Ruger Roadmaps as:
SR-6-67
Sr-1-69R
Sr 3-70/20M-R
Then Two 1970 Fall and Winter Roadmap (I think they are identical but one had fibers in the paper)
Then Four 1971 A - B - C and C w/ Fall & Winter on the front
Then Four 1972 A- A w/ New Products on the front - B - C
Let me know if you see differently.
Good Luck in your search.

If you are trying to compile the No.1 single shot offerings from these first 3 years. You must realize that sometimes Ruger offers something in the catalog but in reality they never make it. Also they make some guns that are not in the catalog.

This list is correct. There is no 1968 catalog.

There are quite a few calibers listed as special order only in the SR-1-69R catalog, as well as the AH forearm.
The SR-3-70/20M-R went to the standard model configurations, 1A, 1B etc., the same models as listed in the 1970 Fall-Winter catalog except the 1V in .300 and 7mm are also listed in the SR-3-70/20M-R catalog (not in the 1970 Fall Winter).
#1 barreled actions were also listed for the first time in the SR-3-70/20M-R

As usual,, great info from Chad!

Now,, I need to find a copy of the SR-3-70/20M-R catalog. Seems I've missed that one somehow!

Anybody got a spare?

You would think the SR-3-70/20M-R would be before the Fall-Winter, so surprised that the 7mm RM and 300 WM is in there as a 1V? I need one too!!
CLN

Yes, the SR-3-70/20M-R is from March 1970 and does not show the 1V in 7mm and .300.
But those two reappear again in the 1971A catalog.

My mistake... the 1V in .300 and 7mm did not appear before fall winter 1970.
I started an excel spreadsheet on catalogs and after a year of not looking at it, re-deciphered my scribblings.
