Noticed on an old posting on another forum (www.coltforum.com) that a poster had been a plant security guard at Lockheed Aircraft in the 1970s and was issued a stainless Speed Six, one of a batch that Lockheed was issuing its security dept to replace worn prewar Colt OP and OMM .38s. He didn't mention barrel length or caliber, but I would bet that they were 4" 38 Spls. since few security firms issued Magnums in that time frame. Even PDs shied away from the "cruel and unusual" image of the mighty .357 in many cases!
Anybody seen a "Six" with Lockheed corporate markings?

I have not seen any with any kind of Lockheed markings and nothing is said about them in the RENE reference manual. BUT, you never say never with Rugers :D

This does not mean none exist, they could always have been marked by Lockheed after they were delivered like some LE/Prison guns were.

RF member "bogus bill" has mentioned carrying a 4" Speed-Six as a Lockheed guard.

Perhaps he could give you some insight regarding possible Lockheed markings.
