Found: low ser. no. KSP-331XL, 3" spurless hammer SP101

Found, and verified by Ruger, KSP-331XL, Model 5723, ser. no. 572-1910X, shipped Sept. 1995.

This may be one of the earliest "L" (DAO spurless hammer) guns. :shock:
Chad lists the earliest reported 2" spurless hammer (KSP-321XL) as 572-70368.

The "L" hammer was not commonly ordered on the 3" guns making this over towards a 'rare' gun. It's the first one I've seen.
I think folks would have been more inclined to order the spurless hammer on the 2" gun than the 3" gun. My casual observation of examples out there would support this.

I looked at yours and went back through my inventory and discovered I have an even lower ser. no. DAO 2 1/4" gun! :shock:
Mine is 571-34245 !

I hadn't given it much thought until now. It's way lower than the one Chad mentions in his book.

Chad actually mentions a 570 prefix 321XL in his reference. I got curious and looked last night.

But you 331XL does sound scarce. Can't recall ever seeing one.
