I purchased a used KMK-678G. It came in a yellow and black fold-top cardbaord box with the 'correct' label. The DOM from Ruger is 6/91 and the date on the box is February 1987. Is this the correct box, or should it have come in a plastic box or a later dated cardboard box?

If by DOM you mean date of manufacture, Ruger does not supply that imformation. They will give you date it shipped out of the factory. So what is the 6/91?

I have a Mark II 5.5" bull barrel manufactured 1989 its in a yellow/black box with a plain cardboard shipping sleeve. The yellow/black box is copyrighted 1987.

I would say that you have the correct box for your firearm.

6/91 is the date Ruger gave me.
