serial number 205738, letters as a steel cylinder Lightweight, May 1957.. they must have been making alloy cylinder guns at the same time as the steel cylinder guns, as I've seen alloy cylinder guns higher than this one!

Is it noted on the shipping invoice?? I know some folks sent their guns back, and had the cylinders replaced,,,,,,,way back, and not as "seconds"
I would bet there is an overlap, but where at ? and when?

I have a copy of a letter around here somewhere to all Ruger distributors (from Ed Nolan) of Ruger's intention to see which was more popular, the alloy cylinder or steel cylinder for the Lightweight. Guess we all know what won out.
