OK. How do you know a Ruger cylinder from one from a Colt?
I don't see any marking on my Blackhawk cylinders that say Ruger.
What are the signs?

the easiest way is the Ruger notches for the cylinder stop (bolt) are narrow and Colts are wider, and the ratchet (rear ) is also different......

yes, the 22 's are marked at times on various era cylinders, but the notches are the same..........
the centerfire ones are NEVER marked

There are at least 2 different Colt ratchets. Neither one looks like a Ruger. Check your other Ruger cylinders to get an idea of what the ratchet looks like. Old and new model Ruger cylinders are different also.

Thanks!
That makes it a little easier.
There is a big difference between the one on the left and the Ruger on the right. If you know what to look for.
Gonna tuck this one away in my mental files.

Thanks again.
