I just can't believe that anyone would care about the serial numbers on their guns  Looks like Steve is going to pick up a collection of a friend who passed away a couple of years ago and it contains 26097 which is a flattop 7 1/2 in 44. It will look good with 26098 that lives at my house. 8)

Ah-ha :!: the early flattop .357---4 and 5/8's one of my favorites--a right plumy gun :D I bought one in Birmingham at a show in the 90's for 350.00 dollars 99% gun my buddy has it now :) 1XXX gun----- He won't hardly let me look at it  in correct box now with the brown paper  --yes I have--PAST TENSE :( owned more than micro RSS's like those machine marks on the screws--just one of my quirks. I bet no bolo was around then :!: :!: :p

wow..nice 4 5/8...

Is that a Ross?

44

The Ross guns are in the 14,000 to 15,000 range. They will have the same features as this gun a type 1 Flattop, but were serial number with an extra digit. Bill Ross was the first collector to notice these guns that were serial numbered with guns that should be a type 2 Flattop.
