Mitchell SSA

Just picked this up today cheap. Don't really know anything about them.

Love the brass frame and the quality of the bluing is really deep and nice looking.

On the underside of the barrel it's stamped A.UBERTI ITALY

Serial number is 966xx. Anyway to date this?

Also does anyone make replacement grips for this?

.45 LC Blue and case color 4 5/8" barrel.

Just an Italian copy of the Colt 1873 SAA. Any grips that fit the Colts should fit that. As far as dating, you'd probably need to find the proof marks to date it unless someone at a US distributor has a record of serials.

OK, So how do I remove these grips?? :?:

There should be a screw on the bottom of the gripframe, remove that along with the backstrap portion of the frame. Just be mindful of the mainspring, as I don't think they use a coil and it may decide to take a trip.
Mind you, this is information I gleaned from my Uberti Richards-Mason, which uses the same frame.
