In reference to street's post, it covers more years than just those mentioned. As the title implies: Revised October 1, 1952. The price list in the manual says: Effective July 1, 1950. I would imagine the RP-10M-10/59 at the bottom signifies a "printing" date although I could be wrong....................Dick :wink:

If the manual says Prices Effective July 1, 1950, and the front paged say that it is revised Oct. 1 1952, that means the prices have been updated to 1952!

Look on page 236 of Chad Hiddleson's "ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIMFIRE PISTOLS .1949-1992" It states that from 1952 to 1959 there were 7 different manuals printed. the dates were"
10-52
1/5===1955?
3/56
1/57
10/57
10/59
10/59

If you bought a gun after Oct. 1 1952 to before Jan. 1955 then you should have the first manual. If you have a gun produced from Jan 1955 to before March 1956 then you should have the second manual, printed 3/56. So on and so forth. So this manual printed RP-10M-10-59 is only good for guns that were shipped from Oct. 1959 to before Dec. 15, 1964 when the next manual was printed.

For some reason Ruger left the "Revised Oct. 1, 1952 for all of these manual up to 1959. In that time period they dropped the T-514 and added the 6" Standard and added walnut grips also. It wasn't until 1964 that they dropped the Revised Oct. 1, 1952 from the manuals.

Hope this clears things up. If you look at the front page of all of these manuals they all look alike. You have to look at the date that they were printed and that will tell you which manual is for your gun. As far as how to load or take your gun apart then any manual will work. But if you want the correct manual for your gun then you will need the correct shipping date for your gun and the correct printing for your manual.

All names went into the hat and 8pointer was the winner! 8pointer, PM your mailing address and it's in the mail tomorrow. Thanks all for participating. It was fun. I aquired the manual at no cost so am simply passing on the blessing to another. I know I could have "sold" it myself, but preferred to divest of it this way to the forum!................Dick :wink:
