I purchased this 7 1/2-inch a couple of years ago. It shipped in June 1959 with regular walnut grips. I purchased the stag grips about 10 years ago in Tulsa. They are the only pair I have seen that are mostly brown and cream colored.

Doc--those are unreal :!: that pair is why in 2011 600 dollors or so is the so called selling price-depending on a persons taste :) but those :arrow: different ballgame --might cause a ruger collector to spend some REALLY big money :lol:

I tend to not think much of stags due to the bite a lot of them give when shooting a gun with a set installed. For display, they are very nice.
BUT,,, that chocolate color and the texture in that set is beautiful!

Beautiful gun! One of my favorites, of all the old models. That, and the 6.5'' Super. :D

Those stags look really, really good on that gun too, BTW.
