I had another thread on these but my Photobucket account has changed and dumped my previous pics. I thought I would post the recent pics I took. You may have see these before as I bought them from a Rugerforum member. The 10" is near perfect and the 7.5" is excellent.

First the 10" Serial # 18980

Adding 2 barrel pics to each gun...

Very nice, Mike. Congratulations on a nice pair of flattops! If you decide you might want a box for that 7.5", let me know. I have a spare that I would part with.

Gotta feel good getting those two scarce Rugers :) FINE examples :!:

Thanks, it does feel good. I mistakenly thought that here in Canada there wouldn't be near the level of choicer finds as there are stateside. However I have come to realise there are many collectors in this country who appreciate the old model Rugers. Far from finding an occasional beater there are lots of very nice examples if a person is patient and aware. They aren't cheap but I guess in the end it isn't about that. I thank those here for being so helpful in sharing the knowledge that leads to making good choices.

Hmmm...do you have a letter on 22780? Just curious. It does fall out of the normal block of 10" guns and for the most part the 10" are all in their own blocks. There are exceptions though, like 22801 which is also a 10", but I don't know if that one is lettered either.
Nothing in my notes for 22779, but there are a bunch of 7-1/2" right there, from 22661 through 23138 with only a handful of 6-1/2" noted in that block.

Love those Long Tom single actions!

With a 10" .44 revolver who needs a rifle? :D

I had always wished Ruger would come out with a 16" .44 Mag SBH and fit a stock to it.

Just noticed that my letter says my BKH47 #22778 shipped Dec. '59 but Ruger serial #'s on website and RENE say 1960 began with#22232. Goes to show you can never tell for sure............

I'm not surprised :) Ruger flood damage covers a lot of things---like maybe--whatever don't fit the mold of Ruger collecting :p
