sword in the closet

So I am gutting the house and came accross a sword. I don't know much about it nor do i know how to find the makers mark to do a search. all i know is on the blade it says "440 Stainless Steel" and below that "China" imagine that...

As far as I can tell the case is plastic with plastic cosmetic parts too. Looks like a wall hanger bought at a retail knife shop. I am thinking the handle is also plastic. Kind of a foe ivory look, with budda type carvings/castings.

How do I find a value on this. I am not a sword kind of guy and have kids. I can only imagine how long it will take for some to loose a finger, arm.... whatever.

These cheap imitations of Japanese Samurai swords go for (new) @ 90. Used around 30. That wavey line imitates the temper line that was heat treated into the steel. I found one and just gave it to a pawn shop to get rid of it. hth greg :)
