I have the opportunity to purchase a Mark I Standard, S/N 244XXX. According to the Ruger site, this was manufactured in 1963. Cond is given as 95%. No box or papers. 1 mag is included. What would be a fair price?

Well does it have adjustable sites or fixed sites.....a short barrel fixed site gun maybe 175 to 225 as they are not much more new....adjustable site guns bring 50 to 75 more again just check and see what a new one sells for and adjust accordingly...not LOTS of collector value as they made plenty to satisfy all 15 or so collectors needs....good luck..see ya RR.

Fixed sights, 4 3/4" tapered barrel.

Thanks for the info.

TennVol:
Its not a big deal 'cause it seems most people are doing it these days, but a gun with fixed sights made prior to 1982 is a Standard model and a gun with Adj. sights made prior to 1982 is a Mark I. Mark I's are also rollmarked "MARK I" on the receiver.
As Radical Rod mentioned, it makes a difference in pricing.
