I'm cracking the gunmoney account to get a couple guns engraved. BUT the only engravers I can think of over coffee are the folks at...

well, I have never had anything engraved, laser-etched or cut.

What say ye? I need some options!

Wayne D' Angelo used t be an engraver at S&W and does some wonderful stuff at a fair price.

Wayne has done several S&Ws for me, a couple of custom knives and several set of scope rings for Rugers. He curently has my "Project" #1 in 257 Roberts that I've promised myself for the last 30 years.

Ray Viramontez, was an engraver for Ruger. Ray did the 1 millionth Standard Auto, etc. If your like a little gold inlay he is the master.

thanks so far!

-- are these just websites - or have y'all had work done IRL? I'm very interested in the experience. Work description; detail to the expectations, etc.

Depending how much you'd like to spend, you could google Paul Lantuch. He's the guy that headed up Ruger's factory engraving program until just a few years ago. You'll know its him when you find his website...last time I looked at it he advertises custom made jewelry.
There's also John Adams and John Adams, Jr. on the east coast, and I'm sure they could also get you in touch with any of the other of the six "master" engravers who did Ruger's factory Engraved shotguns.

Otto Carter is a truly gifted artist. He not only does gun engraving but does many other things as well as paintings, stone reliefs, iron or hand carved wood railings and on and on. The guy is like some kind of genius or something.......
When he did my guns I asked what kind of patterns I could choose from. He said, "None, It all just comes from my head"!!!....WOW! He even engraved the screw heads and tails. You can really only see it when magnified.

...just look at the relief, and all from his head??????

Here is one of my little NAA guns that Otto Carter did, for sale on Gunbroker.........some nice closeups for you guys. The thread end of the screw on the side is so small you really can't see it unless you have a magnifyingglass. How the heck he does this I have no clue.

Beautiful work...I think he is cutting a little deeper than need be. This could be a problem with integrity........
