:D A couple of weeks ago I posted looking for a little "value" help and also some originality help concerning a Super Blackhawk old model. Had lots of input and with all the facts in hand and having looked at the gun I did the only normal thing...I pulled out the money and bought it....it's a 1972 old model Super Blackhawk 7.5"bbl that is dead original. Not had the transfer bar and understand from the son of the man that owned it that it may have had less than 100 rounds total fired out of it..no dings, dents or even a turn ring of any consequence....and it really looks that way...I'm not much of a photographer and have a little point and shoot camera so here's what I got for a pic. Won't go into what I paid except I had asked if $400-$500 would be a fair value and the deal was nowhere near the top end...Sure glad to get a nice, unaltered one. I can't get a full size pic to load so please click on the thumbnail for a full size pic.

And it will NEVER have a turn ring if you follow the proper sequence when handling the Super!

Good find!

I wasn't sure this thread was still trucking along....but my powerlessness did it again....A man locally had his father's Blackhawk in .30 carbine from 1969 it is serial # 50 013xx. It has never been fired. His Father did send it to Ruger in 1983 to have the transfer bar installed (no one knows why as he didn't shoot it...he never had dies for it, etc). I got all the original parts in the Ruger bag along with the Ruger "invoice" for the modification. Shame is that the original 2 piece box was replaced by Ruger with a hinge top yellow and black box and the mailer has information about a bull barrell 22....This gun looks to be more carefully blued and finished that any newer Ruger I've ever seen...it's amazing...I'm thrilled and frankly at this point am wondering if I want to shoot it or not....it's only new once....regardless, I get it out of "California's jail....10 wait period)next week and then its home to the safe.

I lived in San Diego off & on from 1973 - 2001... Great city, but I'm finished with crowds, liberal politics, gun restrictions, high taxes and crappy services. But San Diego will always by "My town...". :)
