I've got a minor crack in a walnut DSP stock. Epoxy is a pain to use so I'm wondering if Elmers Carpenter wood glue would work okay? Anyone try this? It seems to me that the recoil (shock) from a .22 LR would not cause a problem on a gun this heavy.

Secondary question, what stain color does Ruger use on the walnut DSP stocks?

Being it is a 22, as you said should not be any recoil to speak of. I have used wood glue with a mixture of saw dust and it has worked great.
