Got a pair of factory Ruger rings for use on an estate gun(missing it's rings) I had recently purchased and found they had torx head screws instead of the slotted ones I've been familiar with(and didn't particularly care for due to the ease of buggering them up) These are factory Ruger rings, came packed with red cardboard liner in the plastic bubble cover. When did Ruger make this change? Just curious--first pair like this I've used. Nice improvement IMHO.

I recently ordered a set of factory screws from Brownell's to replace a set that the previous owner had buggered up and the new ones were torx.

The torx work much better for me. I've changed out all my old screws in favor of these. Also less chance of scratching the ring itself with the side of the screwdriver, like you see on so many of the older M77's.
