Not sure where I read this, about using BRASS 'pipe screens' for cleaning a bit of lead build up. Local shop here, I got 5 for 30 cents-- bought a couple dollars worth. :) Also spoke about putting a patch behind the brass screen sort of a Lewis Lead type operation-- We'll see. :)

"Pipe screens"? Like plumbing pipe, or a smoking pipe? I'd like to try this myself but need to know what kind of store to look for.
Thanks!

I have a tool around here somewhere called a "Lewis Lead Remover". I got some round brass screens with that tool when I bought it years ago when I was shooting lots of .38 wadcutter loads.
There is a small hole centered in those round screens so that an aluminum screw can go through it to anchor the screen in place. Worked great for removing lead residue off the forcing cone in my Smith & Wesson Model 27.

A section of all copper Chore Boy pot scrubbing pad wrapped around an old bronze brush works as well.
