Doing a takedown/clean/lube on a NOS New Vaquero that's been sitting NIB for quite a few years. Trigger pivot pin was REALLY tight, did not want to move.

Supported frame and end of barrel on wooden blocks, very cognizant of compressing gate latch spring out of the way. Still couldn't get it myself (needed three hands?).

Enlisted my wife to help, we tried three different times, each with a series of smacks on the punch. After both the first and second unsuccessful attempts... go back to reread manual, rewatch the Ruger video, etc. GOTTA be doing it right! :x

Third go-round, I was getting irritated and/or worried. Wife was getting amused! :D Maybe the fourth smack of the hammer on the third go-round, the pin moved- about halfway out of the frame! From there, pulled right out with my fingers.

Hammer pivot pin came out readily, "just like in the book!" Go figure... :p

Anyway, if there's anyone else out there struggling, reread those instructions to verify that you're doing it right, and keep at it!
