Simply a word of advice: You only want -(minus) plug gauges, mine are .001. If you want throats to be .430, you want a minus plug that says .430. A .430 gauge can't possibly fit in a .430 hole. The plug will measure .429 for a .430 hole. Confused yet?
^Mostly correct. Actually, you probably want class ZZ minus gauges, which will be about 0.0002" smaller than the nominal size and provide a snug sliding fit in a hole of the nominal size. Pin gauges are a simple grinding operation on a piece of hardened steel, buy the cheapest ones you can find on Amazon, eBay, etc. and they should be fine for home shop purposes.
