Does anyone know how to compress the ejector rivet on a Mark receiver? I have one that's loose on a well used MKII. There must be a way for mere mortals to do it since Ruger did sell both the ejector and the rivet online until recently.

I saw a long time ago where a man made an anvil to fit in the receiver to fit umder the rivet. Make your own anvil to fit if you can. Tight fit under the rivet, so it can be peened from the outside. Made from a piece of straight bar stock.
Also, someone makes a screw in type as well, think I saw it in Brownell's or Midway. Try Google.

Thanks for all the ideas. If this was a nice pistol I would have opted for the screw on replacement, but it's just a beater. I made an "anvil" out of some bar stock I had using my bench grinder and files. Not neat but servicable. Clamped it down in my vise and went to work on the rivet with hammer and punch. While not 100% successful, it was a substantial improvement.
