Could someone tell me what the size of the vertical adjustment screw for a OM sight is? I am trying to mount one of the reflex sight bases and the screw that came with it does not seem long enough.

The length of the vertical adjustment screw threaded shank is 7/32", just shy of 1/4".

A screw that is to long can contact the cylinder and lock up the gun or damage the cylinder.

Yes, indeed a long screw can lock it up and score the cylinder.
