On an impulse, purchased a Ruger Bisley 454 Casull. OEM, the gun has what looks like a Ruger made locking base pin. The lock screw looks to be a re-purposed front grip frame 6-40 screw. My concern is that if the base pin does indeed move with recoil, will the threads be so damaged to not be able to be removed?

I do shoot other large bore RSA in non-Ruger calibers. This is my first experience with a locking base pin.

I have not heard of anybody having issues with the screw getting damaged enough to where it can't be removed easily. And if,, by chance it did happen,, I'm SURE Ruger would fix it for free.
