No. 1 Grip Cap

I found a good deal on K1A in 35 Whelen a couple of years ago. The previous owner had apparently swapped the butt stock out to another rifle and mine has a blue pistol grip cap and sling stud. No doubt that's part of the reason the price was attractive. I'd like to replace the grip cap and stud with silver/stainless to match the original configuration, but I can't seem to find the grip cap. I tried Midway, Brownell's, Numrich, and Ruger's part department. The man I spoke with at Ruger said the part was no longer made. When I asked what they were putting on the K1A models currently available, he said that the bill of materials for those guns "probably" specified a blue cap. Can anyone confirm that or suggest alternative sources for the grip cap? Thanks.

Grip cap on the new K1A I have from this year is stainless. However, K1A production is pretty low, maybe they don't keep any extras.

What about having it hard chromed or something similar. Might not match... but it'll be a closer match than blue.
