I have an OM 30 carbine that shoots high. Is the rear sight blade available, is it the same as in current models? I think my only easy option is to remove material from the top of the rear sight blade.

I've built up the front sight using JB Weld. Works great and easy to file down the front sight to your satisfaction. I've also had Dave Clements make a front sight for me than had a local gunsmith mill the old one off, cut a slot and had it pinned in. I told Dave the barrel length and he figured out high a sight I needed. Great guy. Clean the sight GOOD and the JB works great.
Good luck. Eric

I removed the dimple from a New Model rear blade and then took .050" from the top. I still have a usable notch in the rear sight. The blade still sits a little higher than the main body of the sight but since there is a dip in the center I can still line up the sights. Hoping this brings the groups down enough or at least closer to aim point.
