I have an old model .357 BlackHawk manufactured in 1966 and need some input on the rear sight. The sight is flat bottomed and the ball detent under the elevation screw is missing.Trying to adjust the sight elevation wise and keep it in place is not really possible. Is there an easy (cheap) fix to replace the ball and it stay in place?

I was hoping to avoid that but if so who has this rear sight for sale?

Pete, those little steel balls are available at your local "True Value" hardware store, or any store that has a good inventory. And, they are way much cheaper than the $2.00 that Ruger charges plus shipping. Ruger buys those from an outsource supplier. To keep that little devil in place during reassembly, put a little dab of grease in the socket where that little ball is supposed to rest.

SGW is right on the money.... that 'little dab of grease' has been a sanity saver for me many times....
