just bought my son a Ruger American .22 for Christmas. During our sight in after about 10 rounds you pull the trigger and it clicked? lift the bolt and it fires? does it about every 10 or so? I know its warranty just wandering if any one has run into this? what do I look for ? Thank you Rod

The trigger is likely set too light. You should be able to adjust it for a heavier trigger pull so it will be safe.

i would agree except we pull the trigger and it clicks ,, but don't fire,, then you wiggle the bolt and it fires

I would soak the bolt in something light like varsol then blow it out with air. Try again. Sounds like the bolt is full of gunk, grease, or old cutting oil that impedes the firing pin from working as it should.

My first thought was hangfires. What kind of ammo are you using? Does it do this with more than one kind of ammo?
