I rechambered one of my Blackhawk cylinders to 357 x 44 Bain & Davis and really like it, you do have to make sure there is no oils in the cylinder or mine will tie up the cylinder but it hasn't done that in the last 20 years of shooting it. I also have a 94 Marlin converted to the B&D and absolutely love it, it chunks the 125 gr jsp/jhp bullets out at around 2300 fps. I have an Encore rifle barrel in it also that is fun to shoot. The round is deceptive with it's small size compared to all the power it pumps out. Any way you can get one to shoot (build/buy or convert) is worth the effort.
I also have a 77/44 converted to 357 x 44 Bain & Davis and that one is my favorite by far.
