WTK: How difficult is it to switch-out a loading gate on a Single-Six? Interested in converting a round-gate to a flatgate on a Tri-color. Thanks

very simple, could probably 'google it', but simply UNLOAD the gun, remove the grips, remove the cylinder, decompress the mainspring with a pin or a nail,,when the hammer is all the way BACK ( cocked) pull the trigger and the mainsoring will be completely loose, now remove the 5 screws holding the grip frame to the cylinder frame, with a PROPER fitting, hollow ground screw driver, flip the cylinder frame over, ,remove the small slotted screw in the bottom of the frame, tap the frame on the bench , we use a padded carpet remnant, so the spring and plunger come out of the hole you removed the slotted screw, now open the loading gate and it will wiggle , pull out forward , where the removed cylinder is out of the frames "window"................reverse the above to go back together 8)
doesn't hurt to flush it all out while its apart and lightly oil..............

NOTE< when you put the small plunger back in the hole, there is a 'taper' on the one end, this goes UP...
then the spring, then the screw and just screw it in till its "flush" or slightly below the frames bottom surface, NOT to stick out , do NOT screw it all the way in.........
