I have a SR1911 in 10mm and a US Naval Warfare 9mm headed my way and am looking for advice on which ambi safety to consider to install. Probably won't even consider putting one on the 9mm, but the 10mm will be my carry gun in bear country. Which brand should I consider and how difficult is installation. Other suggestions or advice appreciated.

A 1911 safety can range from actual drop-in to needing substantial fitting. IMHO, it's best left to a professional. As far as brand, I like Ed Brown.

After viewing a couple of videos of installing one, I have come to the same conclusion. Brownells' recommended the Ed Brown safety and to get a gunsmith to install too.

Thanks for your advice.
