Sent my OM Vaquero in for service work. They traded out the stocks. Gave me some new flaky looking ones. I liked my old ones better and did not want them changed out. Just want the members to be aware of this Ruger (policy?). Anybody else have this happen to them?

Sounds like a Ruger employee really liked your stocks! Were your stocks original to the gun?

Kinda an old thread.

Last Jan I sent an old Mark I in that had a real case of jamb-o-matic.

Id had it to a local shop w/ good reputation twice, and still no go.

I called and explained to a servicetech. He said "send it in" and gave me a real deal on the shipping.

Just a few days later he called back and said it needs the following and read off 3 or 4 items. I asked "how much?" He paused and said "Nothing" and I thought why not.

10 days later the gun was back as good as new and all for NO cost. Must have been a slack time in the repair dept???

Does anyone know how much they charge for a cylinder? Their price list says $50 for fitting but does not list the price of the cylinder, and customer service will not tell you. You have to get an RMA, send the firearm in, and then wait for a quote. I don't mind doing this but I'd like a rough guesstimate of what it would cost for the cylinder itself. Plus $50 for fitting and also shipping.
