YES,,,

Yes and No

It will work with some bullets, usually 100 gr and less.

Most of the 110,115 gr + is No Go.

IF your handloading, I see no advantage in the "RUGER" Single Six,,, as there are those Ruger Only loads out there.

Yes in a 100gr XTP you will be able to get a few more fps in the 327M vs 32M,,,
But really what's a Ruger Only Load 32M going to accomplish over the 327M. It's still a 32cal.

With that said I personally aquired a 327M Single Seven What's not to like about a extra shot... :D

Now after reaming and shooting my first five .32 H&R Mag cylinders converted to .327 for several years, I've yet to experience any problems.

I do not build cylinders and did not like the price of custom built cyls. I decided using my .32 Mag cyls would have to do. Factory loaded .327 Mag cartridges are only ~.003" longer than the factory 32 H&R chambers. Originally I thought I'd have to run the factory loads thru my seating die and seat the bullets a couple of .001" deeper in the case, but didn't have to. Believe it or not they function perfectly by taking advantage of the barrel/cylinder gap spacing. I know it might be counterintuitive but as they say, truth can be stranger than fiction. Even though the .327 Fed mags in the 85 Gr HP Hyrda shock and 100 gr FP loads are longer than the .32 H&R Mag chambers, the ~ .005" bar/cyl gap is sufficient for the loaded cyl to rotate w/o interference.

I shoot full mag loads and some medium reloads. I've never tried to hot rod the cartridge in my conversions. If one reloads with heavier bullets the extra length is usually at the base of the bullet and goes in the case rather than having a longer nose. Even if the nose is a bit longer, the bullets can be seated in the cases a bit deeper so they don't exceed an overall cartridge length of 1.460" the maximum 32 H&R cyl chamber length. Of course use caution to avoid compressed powder charges.

Obviously it will work so the next question who does the work, Should I just try locally or is there someone who specializes in doing this conversion

I do not know of anyone but me and a few others I've advised, that uses the factory 32 H&R original cyl because it appears to be too short.

If you're OK with using your original cyl, reaming is extremely simple because such a small amount of material is removed to extend the chamber shoulder: .130", just a bit more than 1/8" deeper (better a little extra than too short). It's a 20 minute ream job in a drill press on the slowest speed setting but some less expensive drill presses may not go slow enough. You can also mount the cyl squarely in a vise and use a variable speed hand drill or a 'T' handle to turn the reamer by hand.

New Model Super Single Six Magnum .32 H&R Mag, with original cyl converted to .327 Fed Mag. I also reamed an extra 32 H&R cyl to .32-20 'Short' convertible cyl, loading chute enlarged slightly for larger .32/20 case rims. Bisley hammer with modified spur, Stainless Steel grip frame, steel ejector rod housing, SBH grooved trigger w/web removed, Colt ejector rod, and free-spin cylinder pawl for ease of aligning the chambers with the loading gate.

All smiths I know of will make you a longer, custom cyl, shorten the barrel forcing cone, and recut a new cone; ~ $500.

Updating this old post with info I got today.

I sent an email to Clements Custom about rechambering my Buckeye Special Blackhawk .32 H&R cylinder to .327 Federal.

I got the following reply from David Clements:

"I cannot do the work. When you ream a .32 H&R cyl. to .327 there will be a step in the chamber where the cut begins for .327. The 2 chambers are not the same.
David"

Kind of came as a surprise to me about there being a step in the chamber.
