I've noticed that now that the fake 'shortage' of .22 ammo is a few years behind us, Walmart in my area has been selling various brands at the old 'normal' price of about $14.50 +tax for 500 round bricks. Yesterday I bought some Thunderbolts (yeah I know they're 'dirty') for that price AND some Federal auto-match (yup, 325 rounds) for $16.50 + tax. I'd recommend grabbing some of these to be ready for the next manufacturers' 'shortage'. J.

The time is right. 2008 prices.

Just finished off a second Federal 550 pack (orange/red tint box). They were very dependable. $19.97 here.

I don't buy ammo locally except in specific instances although I did purchase 12 boxes(all they had) of Aguila subsonic at a farm store where I'd stopped for a potty break. That ammo was $1.50/box cheaper than anywhere I'd seen it on the internet.
Find a brand/type of 22 ammo you like, then figure the overall costs of ordering vs OTC.
