Anyone load these like a .410 ?

I have my 5.5 inch barrel BFR revolver and thought of this for casual plinking and maybe snake load while along my trails.
Would save me 500 bucks over buying a Bond Arms Snake Slayer...have a MUCH better trigger and 5 shots.
Yeah it's big and a bit heavy but you have the option of slipping in some beefy .45-70 rounds if you need them!

Those poor snakes. :(

Only those poor little Copperheads! But those pesty 2 liter bottles would most likely catch the most of it!

Have not loaded any yet but will post up a video when I do.
I have some #8 shot from my old double barreled shotgun air rifle project so will try that.

A pic of that for those curious...

Well got five .45-70 loads of 275 gr. of #8 shot ready to test tomorrow in my 5.5 inch barrel BFR
revolver.
What I did was buy a box of Fiocchi .410 target loads which use 221 gr. #8 shot over 13 gr. of some kind of powder.

I took the shells apart...dumped the powder in my primed .45-70 brass then put a wad over top.
Took the plastic shot holder and cut of the plunger type end off and put the shot holder in with a sleeve around it to make a slide fit into the .45-70 case.
The sleeve was a short length of the .410 plastic shell with a slit cut along the side to compress to right fit.

Filled to within 3/16 of top of shell and then top with another wad.
Wad material is .035 thick fiber/cardboard gasket material.

The .410 shells were rated at 1250 FPS. We will see how they shoot. Anyone see any issues with the load?

You ever fiddle around with any of the loads in the old books by Paul Matthews? (I think I got the name right)

No I haven't done that.

I have not done any 45-70 but I do load 44 magnum shot shells.
Works pretty good for Grouse . If your close enough . To hot of a load will blow a hole in your pattern in a handgun.
