In 14 days I head back home to try and link up with what Alaska F&G deems to be a proper moose.... They don't make it easy in my area, as the only legal I can take is a spike fork, or a bull 50" or plus, with at least 4 brow tines on one side....

Those don't grow on tree's and I'm afraid that the genetics that grow those big racks are systematically being eliminated....
I did see one bull....Barry... he is in two of my video's.. I am sure he is legal, even though he had dropped his rack by the time I met him last winter...
I just have to try and find that boy this september.
But.... if nuthin else I am going to be home for a week..... That in itself is worth it.... I'll be sure to video the hunt.. or (the sit,) if that's what it turns out to be...

My old faithful Savage 99 is down, and parts may not get here in time, (main spring).... so I may use my wannabe sharps 1874.....
And I'll take something that holds more rounds, if a bear comes in..... (it would be nice to have a nice ol bear rug too!!

Here are the vids with that bull in them... (they are short vid's)..

I'll keep you updated!

ciao y'all

Yep, a coworker in Anchorage, gave me her moose heart stew, cause her family wouldn’t eat it. Their loss, my gain! Yumm!

Fried moose heart and eggs are good. Maybe sometime I'll tell the story of what saved me from having to try Beaver tail for dinner, up off a slough off the Yukon River.
